讲  座 人：孙艺风

讲座人简介：

      孙艺风，香港岭南大学文学院院长、人文学科研究中心主任、翻译系教授暨博士生导师；澳大利亚昆士兰大学荣誉教授、暨南大学特聘讲座教授及跨文化与翻译研究所名誉所长、西南大学和浙江外国语学院等若干所大学客座教授。先后在南京大学、卡迪夫大学、西敏斯特大学、剑桥大学、莱顿大学和牛津大学等校学习和从事研究工作，获学士、硕士和博士学位。曾任国际翻译与跨文化研究协会(IATIS) 副主席，英国广播公司 (BBC) 英语教学节目主持；现任国家级重大项目“中华思想文化术语传播工程”学术委员会成员，中国翻译协会理事会理事等职。          

讲座内容：

     The cultural turn in the 1980s has been not only of profound significance to the development of Translation Studies, but also of important pedagogical implications to translation teaching. It is an often-repeated truism to say that translation does nottake place in a vacuum, but in reality lack of cross-cultural awareness and knowledge prevents many translators performing competently and effectively. The importance of cultural dimension to translation has been underlined by a shifting focus on otherness,and this change of perspective and consciousness has prompted rethinking of culture as a vital part of translation training programmes. The challenge of translation lies at the intersection of cultural norms, traditions and values that pervade the source culture,in view of which translation teaching must take up the challenge and engage students in identifying and resolving a wide range of translation problems. To train translation students to work with different cultural practices and traditions, it is importantto increase their sensitivity to different cultural practices and values so that they are cross-culturally prepared to assume responsibility for undertaking translation tasks with a heightened awareness of cultural differences.
